Writing my first Yelp review because this place deserves it. What do you want for in a mechanic? Honesty. And a feeling that you're not getting nickel and dimed uneccessarily. In this case, I had already left my car to them to get a replacement oil pan on the underside of my car, something another shop said I still needed to get done after a bunch of awful potholes had damaged the underside of my car. Then I get a call from Pacific Motorsports saying they'd examined the oil pan, and the new pan that was just delivered to them, and they could see comparing the two -- and examining my car thoroughly - that the dent I had in my existing fuel pan was so superficial and wasn't at all compromising the oil flow or anything like that, there wasn't a leak, nothing. "Up to you, we can go ahead and replace it for you, but if this were our car, we wouldn't get this done. There's just really no need." And just like that, they saved me what was going to be a $600 job. And this was the second instance in which they didn't even charge me for having a look at my car, testing it, etc. And? They WASHED my car before giving it back to me. So, to summarize, I had already agreed to them doing the work, so they could have easily just done it and made some money on the job, but no, they instead save me $600, wash my car, and hand me back my key without charging me a single penny. What mechanic would ever do this? So I really feel compelled to sing their praises. They're honest guys, and they'll tell you what needs to be done and what doesn't, what can wait, etc. That's all you can ask for. If you have a Mini or BMW in Portland, these are the guys to trust.
